Kwame Dawes, the Glenna Luschei Editor of Prairie Schooner literary magazine, spent most of his childhood and early adult life in Jamaica. He is a writer of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and plays. Of his sixteen collections of poetry, his most recent titles include Wheels, 2011, and Duppy Conqueror: New and Selected Poems, 2013, both from Copper Canyon Press. He has also published two novels and has edited four anthologies.
